30 Years of Experience

Formed in 1981 with origins as a family office, Seavest Healthcare Properties has over 30 years of experience successfully investing in commercial real estate.  Starting in the 1980s and through 2006, Seavest invested in commercial office and retail properties in New York City, Southern Florida and other points on the East Coast with outstanding results.

 In the mid 1980s, Seavest acquired a firm that assisted hospitals with facility planning. From this start, SHP began investing in medical office and outpatient projects and gained a unique vantage point as to the opportunities afforded in this segment of the real estate market.  The firm quickly established itself as one of the early, specialized investors focused on these strategic assets.

In 2001, Seavest formed its first fund to invest in the field and successfully deployed the capital in to a portfolio of new, on campus development projects. It was at this time that Seavest’s strategy of investing through savvy developers and operators was formed and today remains a cornerstone of the firm’s business.

In 2005, Seavest formed its second fund and invested the capital in a range of new development projects and existing properties. This fund was followed by Seavest’s third fund in 2008 also featuring the same strategy. Throughout this period, Seavest continued to expand its relationships with developers and operators in the medical real estate business.

 Today, Seavest is a highly recognized investor in the growing medical real estate marketplace.
